About
Timothy Walden, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult joint reconstruction with expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, hip replacement utilizing the direct anterior approach, and robotic-assisted partial and total knee replacement. He is dedicated to helping patients relieve pain, restore mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy through personalized, evidence-based care.
Dr. Walden treats a wide range of joint conditions, including osteoarthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, avascular necrosis, and other degenerative disorders affecting the hip and knee. He emphasizes individualized treatment plans, multi-modal pain control, and rapid recovery protocols while utilizing both non-operative therapies and advanced surgical techniques to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he graduated with Distinction in Research. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell – North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he was awarded the Stanley E. Asnis, MD, Award for Clinical Excellence. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he received comprehensive advanced training in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Walden believes successful orthopedic care begins with understanding each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and expectations. He values open communication and shared decision-making, ensuring patients understand all of their treatment options and feel confident throughout every step of their care. Outside of medicine Dr. Walden enjoys playing ice hockey, spending time outdoors, hiking, skiing, and cooking.
