View ProfileWhat inspired you to pursue a career in primary care sports medicine?
I’ve always had a strong passion for sports, even though I wasn’t quite talented enough to make it to the professional level. Becoming a physician on the sidelines gave me the opportunity to stay connected to the sports world while supporting athletes in performing at their best. I also find it rewarding to work with individuals who aren’t competitive athletes, including weekend warriors and older adults who are simply looking to stay active and healthy in their daily lives.
How do you approach diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal injuries in active individuals?
I make it a priority to really listen to the patient and understand their goals. I try to incorporate everything they tell me into a comprehensive treatment plan that gets them back to their active lifestyle. I also walk them through all the available treatment options to find what works best for their needs.
What developments in non-operative sports medicine are you most excited about right now?
I’m really excited about the advancements in platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and orthobiologics. These treatments are showing a lot of promise in helping athletes recover without surgery.
Are there specific conditions or treatments in sports medicine that you find especially rewarding to treat?
I find treating concussions particularly rewarding. Even though there may not always be visible symptoms, many athletes experience subtle neurological issues that can seriously impact their performance and quality of life. Helping them safely return to play is a meaningful part of my practice.
What are your personal interests outside of work?
I’m a big fan of New York sports, particularly the Yankees and the Jets. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my wife Amanda, our daughter Nora, and our two-year-old Bernedoodle, Macaroni. We love hiking together, exploring nature, and taking trips to the beach, especially to Long Beach Island in New Jersey.
