What is a Physicatrist

Physiatrists, also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.

They are medical doctors who have completed training in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and may be subspecialty-certified in Brain Injury Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Neuromuscular Medicine, Pain Medicine, Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and/or Sports Medicine.

Richard Dentico, MD

Dr. Dentico is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) with subspecialty in Sports medicine. He is a member of both AAPMR (American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) and The Spine Interventional Society. He has also been trained under Gerard Malanga, MD and Jay Bowen, DO (co-founders of New Jersey Sports Medicine), a leading group in regenerative medicine.

Performed Spinal injections include - lumbar and cervical epidural steroid injections, lumbar facet joint injection and radiofrequency ablation procedures, sacroiliac joint injection, peripheral joint injection, peripheral nerve hydrodissection, ultrasound guided office based injection, regenerative medicine injection i.e. platelet rich plasma injections, prolotherapy injection.

Vishal Rekhala, DO

Vishal P. Rekhala, D.O. is Board Certified physical medicine and rehab and is double fellowship trained in interventional pain and palliative care, as well as certified in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound. He completed his undergraduate education at Villanova University, and then went on to pursue his medical degree at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Rekhala completed his residency training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and fellowship in palliative medicine at New York Medical College. Dr. Rekhala did his interventional pain/musculoskeletal medicine with a focus on regenerative medicine at Rutgers/UMDNJ.

Performed Spinal injections include: lumbar and cervical epidural steroid injections, lumbar and cervical facet joint injection and radiofrequency ablation procedures, sacroiliac joint injection, spinal cord stimulator trials, peripheral joint injection, peripheral nerve hydrodissection, ultrasound guided office based injection, regenerative medicine injection (PRP and Stem Cells)

<font color="white">Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a new option that is emerging as a non-operative modality in treating musculoskeletal, sports, and orthopedics injuries/pathologies.

<font color="white">Prolotherapy Injections<br />

Prolotherapy promotes long-term, often permanent pain relief by stimulating the body's ability to repair itself.
