What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is based on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system. The skull and the 24 moving vertebrae of your spine protect the central nervous system. Small Spinal distortions or fixations (vertebrae that fail to move) caused by accidents, falls, sports injuries, repetitive movements that gradually wear down body parts, poor posture and chronic tension can all compromise proper spinal biomechanics.  Chiropractic is the science of correcting such imbalances. When the vertebrae of your spine lose their normal movement and/or position relative to the segments above and below, irritation to the nerve or joint , may occur. This can lead to muscle spasm, numbness, tingling, pain or burning at the site of the problem, or as far away as your hands or feet. This is why I often see people with pain in their buttock , legs, and feet (sciatica) or arms, hands and fingers. Quite often the problem is actually occurring in their spine. If left uncorrected, the body's own compensations lead to improper movement patterns, and muscular imbalance, predisposing you to further injury and chronic pain.

A continuing schedule of regular chiropractic checkups can help identify, restore, and promote optimal musculoskeletal, nervous system, and therefore body functioning. Chiropractic care, in conjunction with good nutrition, regular exercise and rest, will make you the best that you can be.
