STEPHEN G. MAURER, MD

Dr. Maurer received his medical degree from the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at The Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, during which he also completed a one year fellowhip in basic science and clinical research at The Musculoskeletal Research Center at The Hospital for Joint Diseases.

After residency he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at The Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, Claifornia where he served as an assistant team physician for the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, LA Sparks, LA Galaxy, Anaheim Angels, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and USC Athletics.

Dr. Maurer is a board certified orthopedic surgeon and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (FAAOS). He is also a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of America, and has an academic appointment as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the NYU-HJD Departmrnt of Orthopedic Surgery, in New York. He specializes in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopic Surgery including minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle.

Dr. Maurer grew up in Woodstock, NY and presently resides in Red Hook, NY with his wife Sharon and two sons Evan and Lucas.
