RUSSELL G. TIGGES, M.D.
Russell G. Tigges, board certified orthopedic surgeon, joined Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County in 1997. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and continued his education by receiving his orthopedic training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He completed a fellowship in total joint replacement at New England Baptist Hospital and Massachusetts General in Boston.


Dr. Tigges is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (F.A.A.O.S.), and the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). His other memberships and affiliations include American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Dutchess County Medical Society, New York State Medical Society, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Honor Society, and the Arthritis Foundation of New York. In 2001 Dr. Tigges received the Saint Francis Hospital Award for Physician Excellence.


Presently, Dr. Tigges is Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Northern Dutchess Hospital. Dr. Tigges specializes in total joint replacement and revision joint placement, including minimally invasive and computer assisted joint replacement, and hip resurfacing.


In his free time, Dr. Tigges enjoys biking and baseball.
