RICHARD B. PERKINS, M.D.

Richard B. Perkins, originally from the Hartford, Connecticut area, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in spinal surgery. He joined Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County in 2002. He earned his medical degree at New York University and completed his orthopedic training at the University of Maryland and Shock Trauma Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Perkins continued his training by completing a fellowship in spinal surgery at the SpineCare Medical Group in Daly City, California. He is a candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.


Dr. Perkins has extensive training in non-operative and operative management
of spinal conditions including both degenerative and deformity conditions in
adult patients. He is trained in minimally invasive spinal procedures such as microdiscectomy, kyphoplasty and spinous process spacer surgery (x-stop).


When he is not working, Dr. Perkins enjoys spending time outdoors including hiking, fishing, and golf.
