WILLIAM W. COLMAN
, M.D.
William W. Colman M.D. is the current managing associate of Orthopedic Associates of Duchess County (OADC) and the Director of the Bone and Joint Center at Vassar Hospital. A board certified orthopedic surgeon, he joined OADC in 2003. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University in New York City in 1993. He then completed a one year research fellowship at Columbia University, investigating the use of computers and MRI for analyzing joint mechanics and forces. He completed his orthopedic residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He then completed a clinical fellowship in sports medicine total joint replacement at Insall-Scott-Kelly Institute in New York City where he helped manage the care of the New York Knicks, Yankees, and Liberty sports teams. Subsequently Dr. Colman became a faculty member at the University of California San Francisco where he specialized in joint replacement and sports medicine. He remains very active in academic matters: publishing in journals, acting as faculty at educational meetings, and pursuing the use of computers and MRI in total joint replacement.
Dr. Colman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (F.A.A.O.S.). Other memberships include the American Medical Association, the Insall Club, the Inman-Abbott Medical Society and a former member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Committee on Electronic Media and Education.
In his free time, Dr. Colman enjoys, tennis, golf, cycling, family activities, and digital photography.
